Kauai Experience is owned an operated by Mike and Leila Rodger. Mike has had a passion for the ocean his entire life. He is dedicated to preserving the ocean and sharing her multitude of natural beauty with everyone he meets. Mike grew up in San Diego and after accomplishing his education and receiving Bachelor Degrees in both Marine Biology and Outdoor Recreation Administration moved to Kauai in 2003. Falling in love with Kauai’s spirit of Aloha, Mike has been fortunate to call this island paradise his home. He has embraced the local lifestyle and has truly followed his dreams of living in a liquid reality teaching aquatic sports and adventures with people from all around the planet. Through Mikes passion and knowledge of the ocean you will have an appreciation you may have never felt before. Mike is a life-long waterman who is a certified U.S. Coast Guard Captain, PADI Dive Master, a Certified Advanced Ocean Safety Lifeguard and has an active Real Estate license in the State of Hawaii. Mike has been a professional ocean lifeguard for many years on the beaches of San Diego and here on the North Shore of Kauai. Living his dream he has been able to connect with the island lifestyle and has helped many others follow their dreams of purchasing their own island paradise homes here on Kauai.

Leila shares the same passions for the ocean and the island life through being born and raised on Kauai’s North Shore. Her magical childhood lifestyle of surfing, cliff jumping, fishing, paddling and having barefoot sandy toes has helped her in sharing her local island knowledge with visitors for decades. Leila has truly embraced her Hawaiian culture by learning hula from her mom, a Kumu Hula teacher, living with local island etiquette and sharing her love of life with everyone she meets. Leila has been working with property management and booking vacation homes for visitors for decades. She has been emersed in a family that has been rooted in properties on Kauai her entire life. Her Mom has been a realtor, her dad and brother are general contractors for custom residential homes and her uncles were interior decorators. Her family also has Hawaiian lineage that dates back for centuries. Kauai Experience is an Ohana (family) run business and we are so deeply involved with our ohana that many of the activities, services and experiences are with our brothers, sisters, parents and daughters. You will truly leave the island feeling this spirit of our ohana’s aloha. We strive to perpetuate the Hawaiian values of our island and share with our guests these practices. We also make every effort to teach eco-friendly practices and help our guests to understand how to protect this fragile island ecosystem.
